| | June 11, 2008 | | You only get 3,000 invites in Linkedin - but you can have an unlimited number of people request a connection. Here's a method for doing that. | This page (Connect with Bill French on Linkedin) provides a button that displays my profile's invitation page. I also include my email address, a prerequisite for requesting a connection.
The URL for the button is simple - here's the template - simply fill in the missing items and you're ready to use it as a link or in a button. You can also use this in an email, thus expanding the ability to gather connections beyond the 3,000 limit in Linkedin.

This is a pretty cool idea - I often want to connect with someone I've known but lack (at my fingertips) the required email address, or I have an outdated email address.

| | May 27, 2008 | | It's been more than 7 months since ActiveRain's RSS feeds have validated. | I wrote about this problem here, and here earlier this year, but the feeds remain unusable. Unfortunate for ActiveRain users, most publishing, indexing, and syndication platforms requires valid XML or they can't parse the content. I suspect many AR members are losing exposure opportunities on portals and other Web 2.0 services that index or syndicate feeds. I also have a hunch that some search engines bypass invalid XML documents. | | |
| | May 26, 2008 | | I've been really busy building new stuff for MyST and its flagship service Blogsite. I've neglected this domain terribly, but no more - I'm back for the long haul. Stay tuned for lots of cool ideas and new product research. | | |
